Vault Snack #27 - Hazard Codes

Written by Admin | Dec 13, 2024 10:57:59 PM

Hello, CDD Vault users!

A recent update adds hazard codes to registered Molecules in CDD Vault. These codes can also be seen in tables within your ELN, so let’s take a look at an example.

Navigate to your ELN and create a new ELN entry (or edit an existing entry). Insert a new chemical reaction by clicking on the “Insert Structure or Reaction” icon in the toolbar.

Once inside the structure editor, you can insert already registered Molecules or draw new ones. Pay special attention to the reaction ‘+’ and ‘->’ symbols on the left side of the editor. These are key in creating the stoichiometric table.

Once the reaction is complete, click “Use this structure,” and a table will populate in the ELN based on the Molecules drawn. Here, we have links to our registered Molecule, as well as the ability to register new Molecules. The safety information is shown below each component.

Hovering over any of the diamonds will show short descriptions, including suspected toxicity as seen in the last Molecule.

Clicking on any of the diamonds will provide a more in-depth safety summary, which also has links to Laboratory Chemical Safety Summary pages at PubChem.

Hazard codes will also appear in the exported PDF of the ELN entry.

Hazard codes are live now. As always, we would love to know your feedback and suggestions for this feature.

CDD Support is always happy to schedule a working session to review these, or any other features in CDD Vault. Please contact support@collaborativedrug.com with any questions you may have or to schedule a tour.
