Vault Snack #24 - New Interface, Features & Infrastructure for the CDD Vault ELN

Written by Admin | Jun 27, 2024 6:32:51 PM

Hello, CDD Vault users!

I hope the summer is going well for you.

I am happy to tell you about the exciting updates to the CDD Vault ELN. The CDD Dev team has been hard at work developing a new infrastructure that will power the CDD Vault ELN well into the future. This behind-the-scenes work is now mostly deployed, and the fun part of releasing new features has begun.

Some new features already available in the v2 ELN include:

Indent list values in ELN

Create a numbered, bulleted, or checkbox list with multiple levels. Adjust the indentation of the list using the icons in the toolbar or with the ‘tab’ key.

Merge/split cells, rows & columns in ELN tables

Select multiple cells within an ELN table, either in the same column or row, and use the merge icon in the toolbar.

Preview an image file attached to an ELN entry

Clicking on an image or pdb preview will open a file preview window where the image can be zoomed in or out, and downloaded. An explicit download icon is also available when hovering over the attachment.

ELN Clear & Copy Formatting

When working in the ELN canvas, users have options to clear formatting and copy formatting.

New ELN Tools for the ELN Canvas

There is a new “Additional Tools” drop-down menu in the ELN header toolbar. The tools available in this drop-down menu include Subscript, Superscript, Strikethrough and a new Horizontal Line.

Additional features that are currently in progress for the v2 ELN include:

  • ELN Templates: save templates and select them when creating new entries
  • Annotation tools: TLC plates, simple image markup, cell cultures

Soon, the v2 ELN will be the default editor when creating new entries. Existing ELN entries will remain in their original v1 format and will not be converted. We’re currently addressing feedback so please be sure to email us your comments. Depending on our progress, our hope is to make the switch by the end of July.

CDD Support is always happy to schedule a working session to review these, or any other features in CDD Vault. Please contact support@collaborativedrug.com with any questions you may have or to schedule a tour..
