BURLINGAME, Calif., 27 Sept 2012 — Collaborative Drug Discovery (CDD) announces the addition of Charlie Weatherall to magnify CDD’s focus on its Community, further promoting the widespread acceptance of CDD’s platform among academic, government, biotech and pharma researchers.
Prior to joining CDD, Charlie Weatherall worked with industry-leading scientific software companies such as MDL (dating back to ISIS version 0.9 in 1991), SciTegic, Accelrys, CambridgeSoft, and IDBS.
“At the board and executive levels we sought out Charlie Weatherall to help manage our growth. We were particularly interested in his work during the catalytic growth of SciTegic, pre-acquisition,” said Dr. Barry Bunin, CEO of CDD. “With the emergence of the pharma externalization and collaborative funding models, we needed someone who has ‘been there, done that’. He quickly mastered the technology and we already knew he was strong on the people side.”
Charlie Weatherall relates, “Joining CDD to become a trusted advisor and partner in the collaborative efforts of the customer community has been the most fulfilling professional experience in over two decades. The CDD team is a remarkable group of highly qualified professionals, each one dedicated to ensuring the community’s success. Working as a community advocate at CDD in the area of neglected and rare diseases is nourishing to both my technical and altruistic nature. The collaborative environment and unique culture within the company, and the entire user community, provide a model for any business hoping to thrive in today’s scientific marketplace.”
CDD (https://www.collaborativedrug.com/) provides a widely used, collaborative web-based drug discovery software platform. “CDD Vault™” is the secure, private industrial-strength database combining traditional drug discovery informatics (registration and SAR) with social networking capabilities. “CDD Collaborate™” enables real-time collaboration by securely exchanging selected confidential data with external researchers. “CDD Public™” enables researchers to mine a unique aggregation of information from a variety of scientific data providers.
