CDD Vault Update (November 2024): ELN Annotation Tool, ELN Insert Link Hotkey, Auto Generated Sample IDs, List Searching in Inventory, Flag Outliers During Imports

    ELN Annotation Tool:

Using the integrated ExcaliDraw tool, users can add drawings to the ELN canvas and annotate uploaded images.

Click on the Draw icon to open the annotation tool: add shapes, lines, and text. To annotate an image, first upload the image from your computer into the annotation tool, then add details as needed. Click done to insert the marked up image to the body of the ELN entry.

    ELN Insert Link Hotkey:

Using the “@” symbol, users can quickly insert a link to a CDD Vault URL while typing in the body of an ELN entry. These links can be to molecules, batches, protocols, runs, other ELN entries, as well as standard external links.

    Auto Generated Sample IDs:

There is now an option to auto generate Inventory sample identifiers using a text based sample field created by the Vault Administrator.

Auto generated IDs follow a format consisting of a defined letter-based prefix, followed by a sequential number. The auto generated IDs are unique for each sample throughout the specific vault.

    Search a List in Inventory:

Inventory searching now includes the ability to search a list of values. List based filtering is enabled for the following fields: any ‘must-be-unique’ sample field, molecule name, molecule-batch ID, salt ID, and solvent ID. Start typing a value and select it from the autocomplete list or simply paste in a list of identifiers. Enter/Return executes the search.

    Flag Outliers During Imports:

Outlier status can now be assigned during a data import. Users can map the outlier status, as a separate column, for any numerical readout definition in a protocol. The column should contain “0”, “FALSE” or simply leave it blank when there’s no outlier, and “1” or “TRUE” to indicate when there’s an outlier. Once the data is committed, these outliers are flagged and any calculations or aggregations will exclude these values.
