Vault Snack #25 - All About CDD Vault Templates

    CDD Vault Snack Logo

    Hello, CDD Vault users!

I hope this last quarter of 2024 will go well for everyone.

A Stanford study found that even the mere perception of working collectively on a task can supercharge performance. In CDD Vault, one spectacular way to work collectively or collaboratively is through the use of templates.

CDD Vault uses templates in a few key areas to ensure scientists across your community can benefit from the expertise you've put into your research and workflows.

Discover CDD Vault Templates while working with:

    • ELN
    • Mapping Import Files
    • File Parser

    ELN Templates

ELN Templates are a great way to provide organization and uniformity to ELN entries, saving users time and ensuring data is easily digestible. Publish custom templates to facilitate a wide range of experiment types so that scientists, when creating new ELN experiments, have a head-start by applying an existing template.

    Import File Mapping

The Import Data tab provides the ability to import tall-and-skinny data files into CDD Vault. After mapping a data file, users can save the mapping instructions as a Mapping Template for subsequent use. These saved Mapping Templates are listed on the Templates subtab of the Import Data tab. As an added bonus, these Mapping Templates can be referenced in API (Application Programming Interface) calls which are written to programmatically import data into CDD Vault.

    Saved Parsers

The Import File Parser transforms a wider range of data file formats so they can be easily imported into CDD Vault. After configuring a custom data file parser, users can save it for later use. These saved parser templates are listed on the Parsers subtab of the Import Data tab. Just like the above-mentioned Mapping Templates, scripts written using the CDD Vault API can access these custom data parser templates via the API.
